Every day, approximately 10 people die from unintentional drowning. Of these, two are children age 14 or younger.
The working committees of the OC Drowning Prevention Task Force in partnership with Stop Drowning Now is pleased to announce the 2023 Water Safety Challenge! Join OC Task Force volunteers, along with Supervisor Wagner, at this free event on Saturday, May 20.
The Water Safety Challenge is open to all Orange County residents, and is hosted at multiple Orange County locations.
The Water Safety Challenge was developed by Stop Drowning Now and is an fun, interactive and comprehensive water safety day designed to teach children important water safety, such as how to do a safe water rescue, how to properly use life vests, how to swim to the side and importantly helps parents identify their child’s particular strengths and weaknesses in the pool.
